The Habit Logic!
It takes about 21 days to apply a habit, they say.
How does that work?
Well, one of my favorite quotes is this one by Aristotle.
A habit is applied when you repeatedly do one thing or perform one task by equal intervals of time.
Okay, this might sound a bit nerdy, but you have to perform them periodically, and consistently.
There's a book by Charles Duhigg named 'The power of habit'
He has mentioned a three-word rule for a habit as,
Just think for a moment about what habit you want to make.
For example, if you want to drink more water daily, the cue for it would be placing a cup or a glass of water on your work table or where you spend most of your time. So every time you see it, you'll take a sip.
That won't just remind you about your cue but also help you establish your habit.

Cue - Routine - Reward
- Cue :
Just think for a moment about what habit you want to make.
For example, if you want to drink more water daily, the cue for it would be placing a cup or a glass of water on your work table or where you spend most of your time. So every time you see it, you'll take a sip.
That won't just remind you about your cue but also help you establish your habit.
- Routine :
Routine is what you do on like an autopilot system of yours. Like when you see your cell phone vibrate or show a notification, you just pick it up to check what it is showing. This happens all the time. And since it has become a part of our daily life, it has become our routine.
This is a routine.
So in the case given above, drinking water would be your routine.
- Reward :
The reward is what the word tells itself. It can be a feeling of self-achievement, or a physical or mental benefit or anything that can provide a sense of happiness. You wouldn't know what benefits you'll get but as soon as you'll start developing that habit of yours, you'll get to know them one by one. This might be the element of surprise for you. You'll find many things you may have never thought. and trust me, this is one of the best feelings in the world.
